Mr. Popular

Turns out it's true what they say--they grow up fast.  Soren has been crawling around for a couple of weeks now, eager to find as many electrical cords, coins, receipts, clumps of cat fur etc. as possible and cram them in his mouth.  He was recently felled by a double ear infection and the croup (no shit, apparently there is still croup in the 21st century), but even that didn't slow him down for long.  He is a smiley guy.  He smiles at strangers in the grocery line, on the bus, wherever.  He is popular.

p.s.  I started a book blog.  Well, I started it and then it kind of languished but I am seriously for reals starting it now.

Croup? Are you kidding me? Julian had that in mid-October, so... I'm guessing it was at just about the same age as Soren. This parallel-lives thing is really starting to creep me out. (If by chance he developed it on a Friday night, the VERY FIRST TIME you left him with a babysitter, then I'm... well, I don't know what, but it'll be seriously creepy.) Hope he's feeling better post-plague!

Book blog! Exciting! I have always wanted to start one of those, but the pressure of having it just be me writing it has always stopped me. Let me know if you ever want a guest blogger!

Hey, I would love a guest blogger! That goes for you too, Brandy.

By the way, S. did come down with the croup/ear infections on a Friday, and we did leave him with a babysitter (though not for the first time, as we are negligent parents). Cue Twilight Zone music . . .

I can't believe how adorable Soren is in that pic - and I'm sure in person. Quite the smile!

Baby Charge had croup last fall. It's actually pretty common, even in these modern times. (Also, is that croup cough not the most dire thing you have ever heard?)

I wouldn't say negligent parents--just parents with more people around able and willing to babysit than we have. (The curse of being the first in a social group to procreate, I guess.)

All right. That is the cutest baby I have ever seen. Also, nice hat.

Can I just tell you that you have the cutest baby in the universe? You already knew that, but I wanted to remind you. What a gent! That smile!
