Eleven letter

Being a grown up is strictly for the birds.  This morning I was grateful to see an ESL patron who always asks me how to pronounce words because I knew that at least her questions would be softballs.  Today's words, in case you are interested:  "eleven" and "letter."  I pronounced both of them beautifully.

In a disturbing development, lately I have found myself throwing a lot of thumbs up.  Have I become the kind of person who throws a lot of thumbs up?  Jesus.

I love that lady. She's just so stoked that someone will say words for her, and she looks at you in such an encouraging way it's really a confidence booster on bad days.

Ah, she is a confidence booster, and then there's the little rush of trying to figure out what she was reading. My favorite day was "hotel" and "waffle." Perhaps the only time the words had any connection.
And Soggy Librarian, better to throw thumbs up than to throw up thumbs.

I have also been throwing thumbs lately, and I wish I could stop. I just hope it looks "ironic"...

I have never, nor will I ever throw a thumbs up. I will offer encouraging maniacal smiles...
